This modern chalet on Powder Mountain is located in a Utah nature reserve on a gentle slope with scenic views and easy access for skiing. This makes it an ideal haven. The two-story structure, designed by Jo Nagasaka of Schemata Architects from Tokyo, consists of a steel-framed basement and a highly insulated wooden structure. The wooden exterior compliments the surrounding natural landscape in the warmer months and gives a warm, cozy feeling when covered in snow.

The chalet’s prime location welcomes guests from the slopes after they’re done skiing and preparing for a break. A mud room is a convenient entrance for storing ski clothing and equipment so that it can dry off between slopes. The master en-suite bedroom plus three guest bedrooms and two bathrooms are on the same floor for showering and changing before heading upstairs to the common room.

The upper floor is decorated with lots of windows that frame the view, which you can enjoy while warming up by the fire.

The steel and wood structure of the house remains free inside, with the wood balancing and adding warmth to the industrial elements.
