Best U.S. Destinations For Digital Nomads, According to Zillow and Yelp
The rise of technology has created a workforce that seems rather strange to yesterday’s office workers: digital nomadism. It’s safe to say that the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has also contributed to the rapid rise in this phenomenon – one that enables employees to use telecommunications technology to work remotely from anywhere in the country. Digital nomadism is here to stay. That’s why the people at Yelp and Zillow have teamed up to identify the top destinations for digital nomads in the United States.
To determine the results, Yelp and Zillow created a so-called Digital Nomad Index. The report ranked cities on a variety of criteria including available and affordable housing, flexibility of housing, and a mix of community amenities such as outdoor adventures and city benefits. The results? Jacksonville, Florida was the number 1 destination for digital nomadsfollowed by Austin, Texas; Nashville, Tennessee; Las Vegas, Nevada; and more.
“These destinations offer a mix of outdoor adventure and city benefits that appeal to many young professionals who have transitioned to the nomadic lifestyle due to their newfound ability to work from anywhere,” said Tara Lewis, Yelps trend expert. “They are great for digital nomads and feature a variety of highly rated local businesses and activities such as shared office space, furniture rentals, hiking, RV repairs, paddle boarding, and more.”
