Brazilian scientists are working tirelessly to understand the new variant of the coronavirus in the Amazon. At the same time, doctors are fighting to prevent Covid-19 deaths from escalating. But Manaus, which was badly hit by the first wave of the disease, suffers even more in the second: after the lack of oxygen that killed dozens of patients, people are desperately trying to get bottles for their loved ones.
